Find Halloween Books At The Library

For the entire month of October, the North End Branch will have a special display for one of the oldest holidays in the world.

Boo! There's an entire shelf devoted to Halloween books and decorations inside the North End Branch Library on Parmenter Street.

Meeting: The North End Waterfront Residents Association will meet at 7 p.m. in the Nazarro Center, 30 North Bennet Street.

Let the sun shine in! Finally: The weather report calls for a clear, sunny day with a high temperture of about 61 degrees.

Stories for little ones: There will be a half-hour story time for preschool children at the North End Branch Library at 10:30 a.m. 

This Day in History: On October 11, 2002, former President Jimmy Carter won the Nobel Peace Prize for his years of effort toward finding peaceful solutions to international conflicts. The committee stated Carter won the prize "for his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development."
