Her mother, father, uncle and great aunt are still living in the North End so she knows the neighborhood quite well.

In fact, Jeanne grew up in Detroit but came to the North End with her parents every summer for the festivals. They stayed with her grandparents on North Street.

North End Stories

In June 2011, Jeanne established an oral history project in the North End.

Called North End Stories, Jeanne creates videos of neighborhood people and events.

“For me, video communicates more than writing,” she said.

And so she tells stories visually.

Jeanne wants to start filming local businesses in the North End.

Her background

Now 31 years old, Jeanne worked for The New Prosperity Initiative.

The non-profit organization profiled different community leaders in Boston.

The New Prosperity Initiative began with national stories and then returned to local neighborhoods.

So Jeanne is right back where she feels comfortable – in her local community.
