‘Goldman Sachs and the military industrial complex won, any way you slice it.’
A look back at our favorite comments on North End Patch this week.
North End Patch’s assistant editor received emails and calls this week from readers who spoke about local stories, asked questions and expressed thanks.
The bulk of comments posted on the site, however, were about politics.
Not surprising when you consider how important it is to have leaders the voters respect and trust.

“President Obama showed, again, that he is a thoughtful, reasonable human who does not speed yammer from one position to the opposite. ‘Sending young people into war is a last resort, NOT a first one,’ he said. Stop Romney's reckless and wrong foreign policies.”
“I guess the cure for Romnesia is brainwashing. No thanks. I believe Romney won the final debate.”
“President Obama won, no contest!”
“A more presidential-appearing Romney last night edged out a petulant-appearing Obama. Looks like Romney and Brown may even turn MA Republican in two weeks time with aid of the western parts of this state.”
We also reported on October 24 that Democrat Elizabeth Warren is up by five points over incumbent Republican Scott Brown in the latest WBUR/MassINC poll of the Massachusetts senate race.
And we asked who’s winning in that race.
Here are the comments we most liked out of the 16 that were posted.
"Scott Brown, is he the Republican senator who doesn't acknowledge in his campaigning that he's running on the Republican ticket? Oh, yes, he is a Republican. Imagine that!"
"Warren brooms out the Wall St. hired hand."
"We need someone that is willing to vote on both sides of the isle. Senator Brown is that person."
"If he is so Bi-Partisan why is he not running as an Independent? Why did he sign the Grover Norquist Pledge? Why did he vote so many times against women? Why didn't he vote to repeal DADT before the last minute when he knew it would pass? Why does Karl Rove help him with his ads? Why does he support Romney? Why is Scalia his model Supreme Justice? So many questions about this guy. Warren we know will fight for us and she is like a pitbull for the average person."
"The momentum appears to be entirely on Warren's side."
