Greenway District is in the Planning Process
North End Waterfront Resident's Association met in late November and provided an update on the BRA's new planning effort to revise the Downtown Waterfront Plan.
The public will need to decide several things for the Greenway District planning process.
On November 27, the North End Waterfront Resident's Association's Zoning, Licensing and Construction Committee met to discuss various issues.
An important agenda item was an update on the BRA's new planning effort to revise the Downtown Waterfront Watersheet Plan (water-based issues) and Municipal Harbor Plan (waterfront zoning) and to incorporate the Greenway District Planning Study.

Co-chairmen David Kubiak and Victor Brogna explained to those who attended the meeting what the public needs to consider.
The most important issues at this time are what the harbor should be used for (such as fishing, tour boat areas) and what type of development restrictions there should be on the shorefront.

Moreover, Mr. Kubiak explained, the Greenway District will be either a new zoning district or just an overlay of existing ones.
There will be further open meetings on the Downtown Waterfront Watersheet Plan and the Municipal Harbor Plan.
The BRA will make changes to the development guidelines for submission to the state.
The NEWRA will seek to have advisory committees on the proposed plans.
