The joy of using fingers

Everything in the gallery is created by Romula.
And she frames all her work.
Romula is primarily a finger painter.Â
"I create from my imagination," she said. "I started doing this when I was four years old and stopped a few years later."
Romula taught herself how to sculpt with clay when she was young.
And, recently, she returned to finger painting.
"When I paint with my fingers, it feels like I am molding clay," Romula said. "It makes me feel good and the process is joyful."
Art is a gift
Romula loves to make others feel the joy that she has herself when creating.
She donated a painting on Wednesday night to help Tay Sachs research during a gala at the Cambridge Multi-Cultural Arts Center.
Romula knows someone who is suffering from the disease and wants to help.
The best way for her to give something to the community and people she loves is through art.
It's always good for Romula to paint. And she is thrilled that something she made with her own fingers will now help save people's lives.
Romula welcomes all North End residents to her opening on November 8. It's a new beginning for her on Fleet Street and she'd like to share that with the community.
