Magic Night on the Prado, Madonna Della Cava Feast Begins

2. Magic Night on the Prado: The North End Music and Performing Arts Center, North End Against Drugs and The Boston Foundation's "My Summer in the City" are hosting Magic Night on the Prado on Friday, Aug. 9 from 6:15-8:15 p.m. Prior to the show, from 5:30-6:15 p.m., NEMPAC will host their instrument petting zoo and a free kids craft activity.

3. Madonna Della Cava Feast: The 93rd annual Madonna Della Cava Feast will begin Friday, Aug. 9 and continue through Sunday, Aug. 11. For details, visit madonnadellacava.com.

4. Free concert: Boston-based Amethyst, a six-piece band that “combines pop, jazz and Latin influences,” will perform on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway on Friday, Aug. 9. Concerts are free and will begin at 6 p.m. at the North End Park, 46 Cross St.

5. Tufts 10K: Team in Training is seeking runners for the upcoming Tufts 10K for Women, an event to fight blood cancer, set Oct. 14 at the Boston Common. The eight-week workout program takes place on alternating Saturday and Sunday mornings in Natick, Aug. 17-Oct. 14. Register online at teamintraining.org/ma.
