UPDATE: Marathon Bomber's Lawyers Argue for New Trial
The hearing has ended in a Boston courtroom. No decision is expected today.

Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s lawyers were back in a Boston court this morning, arguing for a new trial for the convicted terrorist.
The hearing has ended without a decision. Judge George O’Toole Jr. has not announced when a decision will be made.
Arguments centered around a Supreme Court ruling in June — after Tsarneav’s conviction — that his lawyers say could overturn 15 of his convictions. Tsarnaev was convicted of 30 federal charges and sentenced to death for his role in the attack.

Tsarnaev, 21, and his brother, Tamerlan, planted homemade explosives at the finish line of the marathon on April 15, 2013. The blasts killed Martin Richard, 8, of Dorchester; Lingzi Lu, 23, of Boston; and Krystle Campbell, 29, of Medford. The Tsarnaev brothers also killed MIT police officer Sean Collier, 27, in the ensuing manhunt. The attack also injured 260 people.
The Supreme Court decision struck down the legal definition of a “crime of violence” as unconstitutionally vague. Tsarnaev’s lawyers are arguing 15 convictions should be struck down, and that his death sentence was unfairly influenced by those 15 convictions. They also argue that their client’s original trial should not have taken place in Boston, where seating an objective jury was impossible.

“The litigation in this case is far from over,” said Tsarnaev attorney Miriam Conrad said in court Tuesday, according to Boston Herald live tweets from inside the courtroom.
In addition to the defense motions, prosecutors argued in court Tuesday morning for restitution to be paid to the bombing victims.
Tsarnaev, who is being held in a supermax prison in Colorado, was not in court in Boston Tuesday.
