North End To Get A New Boxing Studio

Knock Out North End is set to open on Salem Street in May.

NORTH END, MA — If you Google Boxing Gyms near Boston more than a dozen pop up. It's not exactly like this town is hurting for places to go take some jabs at some bags. But the owner of Ride North End, a popular spin studio, said she wanted to create a boxing studio that allows folks to escape. So she's doing just that. Her Boxing studio, Knockout North End, is getting ready to open for business on Salem Street.

The idea is that folks who come in for a class will focus only on the bag in front of them and get lost in the music and their own movement, Boston Magazine reported first.

Knockout North End is set to open in early May. With 30 heavy punching bags hanging from the ceiling, and room to add more, she says there will be no need for participants to share bags (no need to be cordial here).
Owner Melina DiPaola told Boston Magazine she wanted to bring the feeling of a spin class - where you don't share bikes - to a boxing studio. The studio will feature one-on-one boxing classes and group boxing classes taught by former-professional fighters and amateur boxers, as well as strength training and bootcamp workouts. Look for a high intensity jump-rope class and classes that cost just under $30.
