North End Resident Triumphant at Last

A federal court jury awarded popular crime writer Patricia Cornwell $50.9 million.

Patricia Cornwell is ecstatic today.

The North End resident and writer was awarded $50.9 million yesterday in damages in her case against her former financial advisors for mishandling her funds.

According to the Boston Globe, a federal court jury found that Anchin, Block & Anchin LLP – Patricia’s former financial company – cheated her, family members and her company out of millions of dollars.

Patricia sued Evan Snapper, her former financial manager, and his employer, for negligence in handling her finances, including unaccounted-for expenses, voided checks, and money going out with no documentation.

It’s possible that the jury’s verdict will be tripled by the judge if he finds that Anchin  violated consumer protection laws.
