The Boston Parks and Recreation Department is currently in the process of securing a contract with Mountain View Landscapes, the low bidder and a firm that has previously performed successful work for the City of Boston, including the Haley School Playground and Walker Playground. Work is expected to begin as soon as the contract is finalized within the next few months.

Planned improvements include new playground equipment and safety surfacing, realigned fencing for improved circulation, improvements to the lawn area including paths, new site furniture, and pedestrian scale lighting, new plantings, and improvements to the basketball and street hockey courts.
The completion date will depend in large part on the fabrication and delivery schedule for the new play equipment including a large semi-custom piece. Lead times have increased significantly due to COVID-19 impacts on the availability of steel and the disruption of global shipping schedules.
