Renderings Show Boston 2024 Olympic Venues and They Are Incredible

Boston is on the short list of cities vying to host the 2024 Summer Olympics.

A group pushing for Boston to host the 2024 Summer Olympics released incredible renderings of what venues would look like across the city’s historic landmarks.

Earlier this month, Boston was selected for the U.S. Olympic bid. Rome is the only other city to submit a bid so far.

This week, Boston 2024 released about a dozen renderings of venues such as:

  • The Olympic stadium in Widett Circle
  • Beach volleyball at Boston Common
  • An aquatic center at Harvard University
  • Archery at MIT

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh is leading the campaign to bring the games to Beantown. On the other hand, there’s been a vocal coalition—including “No Boston Olympics” who think it’s a bad idea.

A WBUR poll this week found 51 percent of Boston residents support bringing the games to Boston, while 33 percent are against it. About 75 percent said there should be a referendum.

The International Olympic Committee won’t decide on a host city until 2017.
