Massachusetts retailers are on pins and needles regarding the passage of a sales tax holiday for this summer as the state legislature has not acted on such a proposal so far this session, according to the Boston Business Journal.
The legislature appears to be waiting until the last minute to enact such a holiday, which typically takes place in mid-August. Last year they passed the holiday at the very end of July for an Aug. 11-12 holiday.

Retailers Association of Massachusetts President Jon Hurst told BBJ that his phones are ringing off the hook from members who are nervous about what the legislature may or may not do.
BBJ reports some retailers aren't waiting around, such as furniture sellers Jordan's and Bernie & Phyl's who are advertising "double the discount" sales for 12.5 percent in savings on purchases, according to the BBJ.
