A group of archeologists and volunteers dug up tens of thousands of items dating back to the 1700s during a two-week dig behind the Clough House in Boston’s North End.

The dig, conducted in the spring, focused on a former dumping ground behind the Ebenezer Clough House, located near the Old North Church at 21 Unity St., according to a recent article published by the Boston Globe.

The dig crew found a variety of objects from the 18th century, including dish and cup fragments, doll parts, children’s marbles and animal bones, the Globe article reports.
