What Are You Giving Up For Lent?
Whether you attend church regularly or not, you can always cleanse your soul.

Today is Ash Wednesday. It marks the first day of Lent when many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a time of fasting, repenting, moderation and discipline (either physical or spiritual).
For some people, this period of “cleansing” means giving up alcohol. Other refrain from swearing, raising their voices, eating certain things or gossiping.
There are a number of things we might do that don’t help our friends and family. We might do things that don’t help ourselves.

So: Are you giving up something for Lent? What is it? Have you given anything up in past years that was particularly useful for your spirit? How did that help you and those around you?
