Zoning Relief In North End, Statue Stands Proud At Gateway

Here's information about things going on in the North End today.

Zoning Committee meeting: The North End Waterfront Resident's Association's Zoning, Licensing and Construction Committee holds a meeting at 7 p.m. at Pilot House on 2 Atlantic Avenue. The meeting is scheduled to last for two hours.

Flame and Fury of Fleet Street. If you haven't already seen it, take a look at the statue of Tony DeMarco that was unveliled on Saturday. The bronze tribute -- sculpted by Harry Weber and funded by the Privetira Family Foundation -- sits at the corner of Hanover and Cross streets -- what we all call the gateway to the North End.

Stories for tiny ones: The North End Library on Parmenter Street will provide songs and suitable activities for those just born to 15 months old from 11:05 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
