19th Annual Apple Festival Saturday

Apple pie, artwork and pony rides can only mean one thing... it's time for the 19th annual Apple Festival! The festival will take place this Saturday on the grounds of the Daniel Putnam House from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event will feature the apple pie contest, over 30 vendors, games for kids, live entertainment, free pony rides and more. Need to work out before you eat your pie? The Burbank YMCA will hold a Zumba class in front of the Senior Center at 9 a.m.

Historical Society member Ginny Mills is looking forward to the apple pie contest, which "always has great pies."

"I like the apple pie, I like the ice cream, I like the raffles," she said. "I'm a little tall for the pony rides."

There will be silent auctions and artwork on display all day. All of the proceeds go to the Historical Society for preservation of the Putnam House and the grounds.

Stop by the NORCAM studio for their open house after you've had all the apple pie you can eat. They will be giving away free memberships all day. The Welcome Center on the ground floor of the Putnam House will also be open and Susanne Korn will be doing stenciling demonstrations inside.
