Attend the town's first National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ipswich River Park. The free event, sponsored by the North Reading Community Impact Team (CIT), is focused on strengthening the town by encouraging stronger relationships within the community and with law enforcement.
According to NRPD Officer and National Night Out Coordinator for North Reading Mike McAuliffe, “We have something for every age at the event. There will be tables for seniors on identity-theft and senior self-defense presentations by Cervizzi’s. The HEAT program will be there with information on substance abuse prevention for parents as well. There’s even information on programs for new teen drivers by In Control Driving.”
The event will also feature ATA Karate and North Reading School of Ballet demonstrations for kids and an incident command vehicle and SWAT truck, McAuliffe said. Kids will also enjoy a bounce house, face painting station, and dunk tank.
