CIT Announces Online Workshops for Youth and Adults
Education moves to online Zoom meetings

The North Reading Community Impact Team has announced that it is moving its community education programs for adults and youth to online via Zoom Meetings. The Youth Substance Use Prevention Coalition, Social Services Action Team, Elder Services and Mental Health Subcommittee is thrilled to offer community programming in the areas of substance use prevention, accessing treatment resources, mental health care, and parent skill development.
Drug-Free Communities Grant Director Amy Luckiewicz explained, “We had a robust lineup planned for the Spring. Of course, we are all adapting, and we’ve decided to start with priority areas.” The priority areas include vaping, marijuana use, and cyber safety. In addition to youth development workshops, Substance Use/Mental Health Clinician Laura Miranda will be offering new programs in accessing treatment resources, self-care, and open office hours. She commented, “All of these programs are aimed at improving the quality of life for North Reading residents. We’re thrilled to offer something for everyone.” All substance use-related content is appropriate for grades 5 and up.
