Community Impact Team Announces Photo and Art Contest for Youth
The contest is open to students entering grades 6-12.

The North Reading Community Impact Team’s Youth Substance Use Prevention Coalition and Youth Action Team are seeking entries for the 2020 Student Photo and Art Contest. Youth Services Jen Ford commented, “We wish to recognize the voices of young people and learn how they view their community assets. Any student who lives in North Reading and is entering grades 6-12 in the Fall, 2020 can participate.” Digital, film, or even camera phones may be used. Art submissions are also accepted. One winner from each of the three categories will be awarded a $50 gift card to a North Reading business of the winner’s choice. Winning submissions will be selected by the North Reading Youth Action Team in the following categories:
- Photos/art that demonstrate healthy behaviors within your age group
- Photos/art that demonstrate healthy decisions
- Photos/art of resources in North Reading that support healthy behaviors
Photos may be printed and shared at various Community Impact Team (CIT) events, placed on display at the Flint Memorial Library check-out/pick-up area, featured in the upcoming Health and Safety Guide and shared on the CIT’s social media channels. About the North Reading Community Impact Team
The North Reading Community Impact Team (CIT) is a partnership between the North Reading Police Department, North Reading Youth Services, North Reading School Department, North Reading Parks & Recreation, North Reading Fire Department, North Reading Elder Services, North Reading Board of Health, and the North Reading Board of Selectmen. The team was developed to better coordinate the services provided to the community. The CIT’s mission is to work together to better the quality of life for all citizens. The Team emphasizes the use of innovative, non-traditional methods of impacting crime and the fear of crime and strives toward cooperative interaction between the community, law enforcement and town departments. The CIT works to identify factors that have a negative impact on the quality of life for the citizens of North Reading and to implement solutions that solve the underlying problems. The group is organized into Action Teams including: Public Safety, Social Services, K-12, the Youth Substance Use Prevention Coalition.
