Ritzer Family Reacts to Chism Guilty Verdict

The gruesome murder and rape of popular teacher Colleen Ritzer in Danvers High School two years ago stunned and shocked the community, but on the day eight men and four women found Philip Chism guilty of first-degree murder, members of the community found good in the jury, judge, district attorney’s office and law enforcement for their work.

Shortly after the jury delivered a guilty verdict for Philip Chism on Tuesday afternoon in Salem Superior Court, District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett, along with Ritzer’s family, held a brief press conference, and Acting Danvers Police Chief Patrick Ambrose and Superintendent Lisa Dana reacted through statements.
