Flu On the Rise in Massachusetts: Where to Get Your Shot in North Reading
The Department of Public Health announced that the instances of flu-like symptoms have gone up within the past seven days.

NORTH READING, MA — The flu is on the rise in the Commonwealth. According to the latest weekly flu report from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, data shows an increase in rates of flu-like illness over the past seven days.
"If you haven’t gotten your flu shot yet, there is still time to protect yourself from flu as the holiday season continues," writes the Dept. of Public Health. "Call your health care provider or local board of health or visit a local pharmacy and get a flu shot today!"
In North Reading, the CVS Pharmacy and Walgreens on Main Street offer flu shots according to vaccinefinder.com.

Walgreens and the United Nations (UN) Foundation also announced this week the launch of the 2016 "Get a Shot. Give a Shot." campaign, a fourth-year collaboration to help provide life-saving vaccines to children in developing countries. Now through Aug. 31, 20171, for every flu shot or other immunization administered at Walgreens pharmacies, Healthcare Clinics, or Duane Reade pharmacies, Walgreens donates the value of a life-saving vaccine through the Foundation’s Shot@Life campaign
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offers information that includes: what's new this flu season; when to get vaccinated, who should get vaccinated, how the flu spreads, symptoms and how many people die each year from the flu.
