Historic Byways and Tavern Talk on Thursday
The North Reading Historical and Antiquarian Society will host "Everyday Life on the Byways and in the Taverns."

As part of the Our Town Lecture Series, the North Reading Historical and Antiquarian Society will host a talk “Everyday Life on the Byways and in the Taverns” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5 in the Flint Memorial Library’s Meeting Room, which is on the lower level.
The talk was previously scheduled for February, but was delayed because of the weather.

North Reading Historical and Antiquarian Society board member Don Doyle, who is also a popular artist in town, will offer a glimpse into the experiences of travel in North Reading between the American Revolution to the arrival of the Salem and Lowell Railroad in North Reading in 1850.
Using the Damon Tavern as its center, the talk will discuss stage taverns, stage coaches and the roads in and around North Reading going back to the Bay Colony days.
