The holiday season is upon us and the Ipswich River Community Chorus will be presenting their holiday concert ‘Sleigh Ride Around the World’ in early December to kick off the festivities.

The concert celebrates the season with music from around the globe! Featuring carols from England (Sussex Carol), Ireland (Carol From an Irish Cabin), Brazil (Brazilian Cradle Carol), France (Petit Enfant), Africa (African Noel), Russia (The Sleigh), and many more, with a mix of jazzy, tender, soulful and fun; something for everyone! Classic carols will also be included with an energetic twist using arrangements written for the Canadian Brass quintet. The concert will include our own brass accompaniment...not to be missed!

The chorus will be co-directed by Johnny Nichols and interim director Julia Hanna and accompanied by Miles Goldberg. Formerly known as the North Reading Community Chorale, the chorus comprises passionate singers from several communities along the length of the Ipswich River. With support from our communities, the chorus endeavors to offer scholarships to two local graduating high school seniors each spring, helping to foster a lifelong involvement in musical performance.
