Lights, Cameras, Santa On North Reading Common
Town celebrates the season by turning out for the annual Holiday Tree Lighting.
Nothing against Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but there's only event that signals the beginning of the holiday season in North Reading. Santa came to town Sunday and with a flick of the wrist, threw the switch that turned on the lights on North Reading Common.
For the 12th year the Holiday Tree Lighting was hosted by the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce. New this year was a live ice sculpture demonstration, face painting and pony rides in the historical district.
The celebration included Santa photos, tractor and trolley rides, strolling characters, live entertainment, an inflatable obstacle course and more. The Festival culminated at dusk when Santa and his elves officially lit the Town Common for the holiday season.
