North Reading Earns No. 4 Seed In Softball Tournament

NORTH READING, Ma. - Defending Division 2 North champion North Reading earned the No. 4 seed in the 2019 softball pairings. The MIAA released the softball pairings Tuesday.

The Hornets will host No. 13 seed Bedford in a first-round matchup on Saturday. Game time is 3 p.m. With a win, North Reading would play the winner of the Arlington Catholic vs. Marblehead game on Monday, June 10.

One year after beating Burlington for the North title before falling to Greater New Bedford in the EMass final, the Hornets finished 17-3. North Reading's only losses were to Amesbury, Marblehead, and top-seeded Triton. The Hornets also beat Triton, 10-7, handing the Vikings their only loss this spring.
