An intoxicated North Reading football fan was arrested Friday night after allegedly assaulting a Newburyport police officer, according to newburyportnews.com.
The Hornets lost an away game 35-7 to the Newburyport Clippers last Friday night. After the game, Michael Wayne Robinson, 20, of 22 Lindor Rd. was arrested for assaulting a Newburyport police officer inside the station, according to newburyportnews.com. Robinson was also reported to be part of a manhunt through Newburyport's downtown area, newburyportnews.com said.
Robinson was arraigned this week at Newburyport District Court on charges of assault and battery of a police officer, two counts of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and malicious destruction of property less than $250, newburyportnews.com said.
