North Reading Rotary Seeks Students for Leadership Opportunity

High School sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply for Rotary Youth Leadership Awards weekend

The Rotary Club of North Reading is actively searching for qualified candidates to attend this year’s Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Conference, which will be held from May 8 -10, 2020 at the Camp Glen Brook in Marlborough, NH. The Annual RYLA Conference offers participants an opportunity to live, work and interact together in an atmosphere of cooperation and growth. The program is designed to challenge participants to utilize and improve their skills and accept the responsibilities of leadership. The entire cost of the program, aside from a $25 application fee, will be covered by the Rotary Club of North Reading.

Participants will be selected from young women and men who have exhibited leadership abilities and who are currently in their sophomore or junior year of high school. North Reading Rotary is now contacting high school principals, guidance counselors, youth organizations and other sources for nominations of conference participants.

  • Exploring and practicing new concepts of leadership and citizenship
  • Discovering creative approaches for resolving family, social and professional conflicts
  • Experiencing the joy and the value of learning teamwork to get an advantage for the future
  • Challenging participants to “Return to Serve” their communities
  • Making connections with other likeminded students from other communities
