North Reading School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, More

NORTH READING, MA — The first day of school in North Reading is August 29 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Reading District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates, such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

August

• 8/27 - 8/28: Teacher In-Service Days
• 8/29: First Day of School (12:45 PM Release Time for Grades K-5)

September

• 9/3: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/5: Elementary Open Houses
• 9/12: Early Release (Grades 6-8)
• 9/26: Early Release (Grades 6-12), RMHS Open House

October

• 10/5: 11 a.m. Release (Grades Pre-K-12)/Teacher In-Service Day
• 10/8: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/10: Early Release (Grades 6-12)

November

• 11/6: No School (Teacher In-Service Day/Election Day)
• 11/12: No School (Veterans Day Observed)
• 11/16: No School (In-Service Day)/Parent-Teacher Conferences (Grades Pre-K-5 and 9-12 )
• 11/21: 11 AM Dismissal (Grades Pre-K-12)
• 11/22 - 11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December
