North Reading Town Day Canceled, Drive-In Movie Instead
The drive-in movie will replace the North Reading Town Day in a "safe way with social distancing."
NORTH READING, MA — There will be no North Reading Day this year. The Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce has announced that due to the COVID-19 health crisis, they are not able to host North Reading Town Day this year. However, they are instead hosting a new event: North Reading Movie Night with Signature Sponsor, The Savings Bank.
The drive-in movie will be held on August 29th at 8 p.m. at Teradyne’s parking lot, 700 Riverpark Drive in North Reading. The drive-in movie will be the new way to bring the community together safely with social distancing.
“We are pleased to continue to host a different community event for North Reading this summer”, remarked Robin Krane, Chamber President. Krane continued, “so many families are looking for safe ways to enjoy time together outside with appropriate social distancing, and this movie night is a wonderful way to celebrate summer together. We are also delighted to announce a new partnership with The Savings Bank, who has committed to support all of the Chamber’s events over the next year, including being our Signature Sponsor of North Reading Movie Night and our Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration.”
