North Street Closures For Water Project Began Monday Morning

Parts of North Street will be totally or partially closed, with some detours for surrounding blocks.

NORTH READING, MA —Road work for the North Reading Water Project began Monday morning, shutting down westbound traffic on North Street at Main Street and completely closing the road between Lowell Road and Oak Avenue.

The North Reading Police Department said in a tweet that traffic will be detoured to the intersection of Lowell Road and Main Street and asked that people avoid the area. The closures on North Street will change as work moves east, the tweet said.

Oak Avenue and Pine Avenue are restricted to residents and people going to Town Hall—when leaving, these drivers will have to head eastbound toward the intersection of Main Street and North Street.
