Resident Held in Protective Custody for Drunkenness

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the North Reading Police Department from Friday through Sunday. The information is open to the public.

Friday, Oct. 4

• At 12:37 p.m., a caller reported a motor vehicle accident on Concord Street. No injuries were reported.
• At 6:27 p.m., a resident walked into the police station to report a possible check scam.

Saturday, Oct. 5

• At 5:41 a.m., a Main Street resident reported that her tires had been slashed.
• At 10:08 p.m., an Equestrian Drive resident reported that someone was toilet papering a neighbor's house.
• At 10:44 p.m., as the result of a motor vehicle stop on Castle Road, a 47-year-old Boston resident was summonsed on charges of operating with a suspended registration and a 41-year-old resident was summonsed on charges of operating with a revoked license.

Sunday, Oct. 6

• At 1:04 p.m., as the result of a motor vehicle stop on Francis Street, a 23-year-old Reading resident was summonsed on charges of failure to stop at a red light and attaching a number plate.
• At 6:55 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Elm Street. No injuries were reported, but damage was done to 107 Elm St.
• At 8:57 p.m., an employee from Joe Fish reported a male trying to get into the back door of the restaurant and then trying to get into a white tractor-trailer. As a result of the call, a 46-year-old resident was held in protective custody for drunkenness.
