The truck smashed into the front entryway of the single family home, according to North Reading Police. The residents of the home were there at the time, but neither the driver of the truck nor the residents were hurt.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the tractor-trailer may have been cut off by another vehicle, causing the truck driver to lose control, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

The house did not sustain major structural damage, according to the North Reading Fire Department. The structure sustained damage to the front door and staircase, surrounding woodwork around the door, front siding and minor framing damage, the Fire Chief said.

The road was not closed due to the accident, Warnock said. The roadway is passable to through traffic.
