Peabody Makes 'Hottest Towns in Massachusetts' List
According to the results, Peabody saw 537 home sales in 2014, which was an increase of 6.34 percent compared to 2013.

McGeough Lamacchia, a real estate company, just released its “Top 25 Hottest” list, and Peabody came in at #11.
Lowell topped the list, with 955 home sales for 2014. Scituate, Waltham, Centerville and Chicopee round ou the top five.
McGeough and Lamacchia assessed 351 towns in Massachusetts, and the report reveals the top 25 cities and towns with most home sales in 2014 in Massachusetts.

Towns had to have a minimum of 200 home sales for the year to be considered for the list. Several of the towns on this year’s list, such as Westborough, Yarmouth, and Hudson, appeared in the real estate company’s 25 Hottest Towns lists before.
“This list also provides a look into the future of home prices in these areas,” according to the report. “Home prices tend to rise after sales rise. Since we actively sell homes in most of these towns, we enjoy preparing this list on an annual basis to better educate our clients.
