2018 Quincy Flag Day Event Guide

QUINCY, MA — A large crowd is expected for one of the biggest city events on the calendar.
Quincy will hold their annual Flag Day parade Saturday afternoon. The annual event has been a Quincy tradition since the first celebration in 1952. This year's parade will be followed by the raising of a 30x60 American Flag, a patriotic medley, and the presentation of awards to the parade grand marshal and the recipient of the Richard J. Koch Youth Service award, according to the city website.

The Schedule
- 7 p.m. - The Parade
- 8 p.m. - Flag Raising Ceremony at Pageant Field
- 9 p.m. - Fireworks at Pageant Field
The Route

The 1.2 mile parade begins on Coddington Street and proceeds north on Hancock Street to Merrymount Parkway, and ends at Pageant Field.
Street Closings
Street closings at the start of the parade route will begin at approx. 5:45 p.m. (Coddington Street and the surrounding area). Road closures will extend beyond the actual route.
Hancock Street between Granite Street and Standish Road will close at about 6:45 p.m.
