Former Beachcomber Sold

The property went for $1.4 million after spending years vacant.

QUINCY, MA — The Beachcomber has remained vacant for years, but something new could be coming to the site.

The old bar was sold on May 22 to a company named 797 Quincy Shore Dr LLC for $1.4 million, according to the Patriot Ledger. Jacky An Xie of Saugus, Lin Y Xu of Amesbury and Zhong Wen Huang of Squantum Street in Quincy are listed as the managers of the group by the secretary of state's office.

What or if something will replace the dilapidated building on Quincy Shore Drive is unknown. Chris Walker, a spokesperson for the city, said no plans have been filed for redevelopment.

Local residents, however, may treat the news with some caution following what was thought to be the 2016 sale of the property. Scott Wolas, known as Eugene Grathwoh, allegedly skip down with the $2 million he took from 20 investors to buy the property. His trial is due to start July 5.
