QUINCY, MA — Free basic boating safety courses are being offered in Quincy this spring. There will be series of three, three-day course that last four hours each at the Houghs Neck Community Center.

Courses are open to those ages 12 and older with no previous boating skill required. The first course will be March 10, 17 and 24 from 6 to 10 p.m. on Tuesdays. The second course is March 21, 28 and April 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. The third course is May 7, 12 and 19 with one session on Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. and the other two on Tuesday from 6 to 10 p.m.

For more information, or help registering, call the Massachusetts Environmental Police Department at 508-564-4961, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
