MBTA Worker Struck, Killed At Quincy Center Station

QUINCY, MA —The MBTA is mourning the death of one of their own employees this weekend after a woman was killed when she was hit by an MBTA bus in the parking lot of the Quincy Center station. The bus also crashed into a nearby car around noon.

"Earlier today, a member of our MBTA family suffered a fatal injury at the Quincy Center busway," the MBTA said in a statement. "We are deeply saddened by this loss, and extend our heartfelt sympathy to the victim's family, friends and colleagues."

Reports said the woman was pinned under the bus and had to be free by emergency personnel. Both the bus and the car it hit sustained damage and had to be towed away from the scene.

MBTA Transit Police are investigating the incident.
