5,300+ Quincy In The Dark; 100 Needed Rescue
Heavy winds and rain have knocked out the power for many and causing structural damage.

QUINCY, MA— Quincy as been hit hard by Friday's storm with multiple people without power and in need of rescue.
As of of 6:30 p.m., the 5,347 Quincy homes are without power, according to National Grid and 100 people were recused from flood waters.
Quincy Police Captain tells me that they have already rescued over 100 people today from the flood waters... some driving, others from homes. Please heed warnings and do not drive through flood waters putting yourself and first responders at risk. #Boston25 #Noreaster #Flooding

Some roads have reopened but more flood waters are expected during the next high tide at 11:45 p.m.

Photos throughout the day show a dire situation for many in Quincy. Police have urged residents to remain safe, but some have found themselves stuck in rising waters. Rescue crews, including the National Guard, have used boats and front-end loaders to perform evacuations and rescues.

On the property damage front, Willard Street towards East Milton Square was closed due to a damaged 75-foot store sign, which blew over.
