Quincy Bar Named After Fallen Police Officer Closing

S6 Sports Bar will shut its doors on the 13th anniversary of Quincy police officer James Cochrane's death.

QUINCY, MA — A city pizza bar named for a fallen police officer will close this week. S6 Sports Bar will shut down Tuesday to make room for ongoing development in Quincy Center, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. The Patriot Ledger reported the Hancock Street bar will be torn down to make room for a road connecting Burgin Parkway to a new parking garage.

Tuesday's closing marks the 13th anniversary of Quincy police officer James Cochrane's death. Cochrane died in a motorcycle crash while off-duty. Cochrane's brother Eddie opened the bar and named it S6 after his brother's badge number.
