Quincy City To Implement Food Deliveries For Families Affected By Coronavirus

The City of Quincy has begun participating in the MA State Isolation and Quarantine Food program, which provides boxes of shelf stable food to residents affected by COVID-19 that are in isolation or quarantine who are food insecure. The MA COVID-19 Command Center established the Isolation and Quarantine Food Program to address food insecurity among individuals and households that are in isolation or quarantine. The program is focused on assisting households that are experiencing barriers to food access due to limited financial resources and/or have no other resources to deliver food. Examples of food box contents may include; spaghetti, apple sauce, rice, beans, peanut butter, clam chowder, canned tuna, dry oats, and crackers.

The City of Quincy Office of Emergency Management will oversee the program and will execute food deliveries to Quincy residents in need. Individuals or families in Quincy affected by COVID-19 currently in isolation or quarantine will be given the option of participating in the program during intake interviews with their care resource coordinator at the Community Tracing Collaborative (CTC).
