Quincy College Graduates Receive $1,000 From Local Philanthropist
The students were told to keep $500 and give $500 to someone who needs it.
QUINCY, MA — Quincy College graduates received $1,000 as a gift from Granite Telecommunications CEO and philanthropist Rob Hale, reported 7 News Boston.
Each of this year's 400 graduates were presented with the gift and directed to keep $500 for themselves and give $500 to someone who needs it.
The $400,000 arrived in an armored truck with two armed guards, who gave the cash to Hale to distribute. Hale said he wanted to present this gift to this year's graduates due to how much they have been through during the pandemic.
