Quincy Couple Arrested From Robberies Outside Train Station

Quincy Police arrested two people in connection to a pair of robberies outside the North Quincy train stop leaving one victim seriously hurt

QUINCY, MA- A pair of Quincy residents, Brian Kenney, 34, and Angelina Kenney, 38, were arrested at their home in connection to two robberies which took place last Thursday. Both incidents were unarmed robberies on a 69-year old Asian man at 4:45 AM and 55-year old Asian woman at 9:55 PM. The male victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and the woman was unharmed.

In the initial reports, the incidents took place on West Squantam Street outside of the North Quincy train station. During the first incident, the male victim had his lunch bag stolen from him during the attack and was hospitalized as a result of the mugging. The second incident saw the robber steal a woman's bag and make a flea attempt, only to be caught on video by bystanders, then they dropped the bag and escaped.

Quincy Police were unclear if both incidents were related to each other, and ultimately led to fear in Quincy's Asian American community given that both victims were of Asian descent. The detectives working the case did look into a possible hate crime scenario, an ultimately determind this to not be the case.
