Quincy Developer Planning Wareham Casino, Horse Racing Track
A Quincy developer wants to build Wareham Park, which would include, a casino, horse racetrack, hotels and a sports complex.
QUINCY, MA — A Quincy real estate executive announced a proposal to build a $300 million casino and horse racing track in Wareham. Notos Group, LLC and Tom O’Connell, a top executive with Marina Bay and the Granite Link golf club, announced plans for Wareham Park, the Boston Globe reported.
If approved by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, the casino would be located on a 275-acre property off Glen Charlie Road and just north of Route 25. Besides the casino, the group said it plans for Wareham Park to include a one-mile horse racetrack, live entertainment, a hotel and a sporting complex.
Notos Group told WHDH the casino would generate more than $50 million in state revenue, $5 million for Wareham and create more than 1,000 permanent jobs and 1,000 construction jobs.
