Quincy Organization Receives $60,000 Blue Cross Blue Shield Grant
The Massachusetts Senior Action Council is one of 64 organizations awarded grant funding to continue making health care more accessible.
QUINCY, MA — The Massachusetts Senior Action Council in Quincy has been awarded a $60,000 grant from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation to continue its efforts to promote and expand access to healthcare for low-income residents.
The council is one of 64 organizations receiving grants from the Blue Cross Blue Shield Of Massachusetts Foundation for their work in making healthcare accessible and affordable and responding to community needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“With this round of grant-making, we remain steadfast in our multi-year commitments to expanding access to behavioral health urgent care, investing in new models to address the social determinants of health, strengthening statewide advocacy for health access, and supporting local efforts to obtain coverage for Massachusetts residents,” said Audrey Shelto, president of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation, in a statement.

Since its establishment in 2001, the foundation has given a total of $73 million to organizations and programs working to improve health care in Massachusetts.
