Quincy South Shore YMCA Frozen 5K Set For Sunday

There will be some road closures to keep in mind for the Quincy Frozen 5K set for Sunday.

QUINCY, MA — The running of the Frozen 5K will mean some traffic detours in Quincy on Sunday morning. The race begins at 9:30 a.m. at the YMCA on Coddington Street and travels Sea Street to Palmer Street, then back to the YMCA.

Quincy police are alerting residents and those traveling to the city that Coddington Street from the Southern Artery to Spear Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. There will also be lane restrictions in the eastbound lane on Sea Street.

The is the 8th Annual SSYMCA George "Trigger" Burke Frozen 5K road race through Quincy. After the race, warm up with family and friends at at 5-Year Anniversary Celebration inside the Quincy Y Briggs Family Fieldhouse with family activities and more.

The race is open to runners and walkers with the proceeds to benefit the SSYMCA's Annual Campaign that helps to supplement cost of Y memberships, programs and services to those in need.
