Quincy's Burgin Parkway Under Construction For At Least 10 Months
Between Hannon Parkway and Granite Street, Burgin Parkway will be reduced to two lanes of travel.
QUINCY, MA — The first phase of construction for a bridge creating a new conection between Hancock Street and Thomas E. Burgin Parkway is scheduled to begin next week. Quincy Police announced there will be lane restrictions on Burgin E. Parkway between Hannon Parkway and Granite Street, as the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) works on the project for the next 10 to 12 months.
MassDOT's contractor set up a long-term work zone on the west side of Burgin Parkway between Hannon Parkway and Granite Street. The four travel lanes will be reduced to two during construction.
The work includes relocating utilities, constructing a retaining wall, and raising the grade of the road. Once the first phase is complete, the other side of Burgin Parkway will follow.
