Quincy's City Of Presidents 5K To Raise Money For Schools
The sixth annual City of Presidents 5K is coming up this month.
QUINCY, MA — The sixth annual City of Presidents 5K is taking place Sunday, Sept. 29, at 9:30 a.m. The proceeds from the event will raise money for Quincy Public Schools. According to event organizers, the race is replacing two longtime races in Quincy — the Marshall William F. Degan Memorial Road Race and the Officer Jamie Cochrane Memorial Road Race.
The City of Presidents race is presented by the city and its public schools. Organizers are working with the family of late Emily Zarnoch, who was a beloved teacher of Central Middle School, an avid runner and longtime member of Quincy Track Club.
The 3.1-mile run/walk will span the perimeter of Merrymount Park, Grossman Park and Caddy Park, and will run along the beachfront at Wollaston Beach Reservation. The race will start and end at the base of Pageant Field.
