Stop & Shop Donates $10,000 To Quincy Public Schools
The grant will provide funding for the Culinary Arts program at Quincy High School.
QUINCY, MA—To celebrate the reopening of its Quincy store on Newport Avenue, Stop & Shop has donated $10,000 to Quincy Public Schools as part of an effort to support Culinary Arts students and provide healthy food for the community.
The Culinary Arts program at Quincy High School combines hands-on and classroom-based learning, giving students the experience they need to start careers in food service. The grant from Stop & Shop will provide students with the funds they need to obtain ingredients and prepare meals for the community during the 2020-2021 school year.
"The community partnership grant aims to support Quincy High School Culinary Arts students in developing a healthy choice menu, as well as preparing, packaging and distributing food items to local organizations," said Quincy Stop & Shop in a press release.

"The lunches will be distributed to First Responders on Friday, December 18, benefitting Quincy Fire Department, Quincy Police Department, Quincy Health Department, Brewster Ambulance Services, Quincy Public Schools Health Services Team, and Quincy Public Schools Custodial Services Team."
The store renovations at the Quincy Stop & Shop were centered around providing more fresh, healthy, and convenient food options for local customers, said the company, and the donation to culinary arts students is part of a goal to create a healthier community.
