The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has confirmed the presence of the rare disease.

QUINCY, MA — A North Quincy daycare has been closed following confirmation that a child has typhoid fever.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has confirmed the presence of the rare disease in a child who goes to the area's Bright Horizons. State and city officials are now investigating.
One mom told WFXT that a toddler became infected while overseas.

Typhoid fever is spread by contaminated food, water, and close contact.
