Water Main Break In Quincy

QUINCY, MA — A water main break came at a tough time in Quincy amid a really rough one throughout the state on Thursday. As large portions of the state's highways faced gridlock, Quincy drivers were dealing with the water main break that closed traffic on Hancock Street.

City officials said Hancock Street southbound was expected to be closed from Newport Avenue to Myrtle Street through at least the evening commute. Traffic on Hancock Street northbound in the area of 100 Hancock Street was to be restricted to one lane for the duration of work.

Drivers were asked to find alternate routes around the area Thursday night.
